Gurdwara visit

20 Jun 2025

Last Friday we went to visit a Gurdwara in Bradford. We've been studying Sikhism at different points across the year as part of our 'World Faith'. It was very interesting to see their customs and cultures in practice having learnt so much about them.

They were very kind and welcoming, providing a free meal, which they call Langar, which is always available at the Gurdwara. They had plenty of sweets and drinks too, which make for an exciting Friday lunch.

They explained to us all about their holy book and the teachings of the Guru - we were able to ask lots of questions and listen to some readings from the book. The children asked some fantastic and well-thought questions.

We had a very enjoyable day and thanks to the Gurdwara for hosting us and showing such Kindness
