Have a look at the below link. There are lots of ideas for different PE type activities that you could do at home; give one a go! There's a link to Joe Wicks or our Real PE units

Maths

Group one

Yesterday we were working on short multiplication. Tomorrow we'll be doing some long multiplication questions so today we'll log onto My Maths and complete one of their lessons about it.
To gain access, remember, the username is grewel and the password is algebra

Then you have to click the portal and I asked you to write down your individual usernames and passwords for that. But just in case you've forgotten, I'll load the list of passwords again but please make a note of them. Here's the website. https://www.mymaths.co.uk/
I will be logging on later to see how you've got on.

Group 2

I noticed that page 7 was something we've already done so instead I've loaded two reasoning questions on for you to attempt. Hopefully you can read them ok. That's your maths task for today.
Use what you know, look at all the information it's giving you and think about what you can do with that information.

English

Yesterday we were looking at prepositions. Today we'll continue with that. We'll be looking more at how prepositions are useful for writing and giving detail, especially in description.
The BBC have another lesson on this, some of which might overlap from what you did yesterday. Please watch all the videos and complete the activities
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zbkwqp3

However, instead of doing activity three, I've found some more interesting pictures to describe. Choose one and in your English books write a detailed paragraph describing its looks but using plenty of prepositions to describe what you can see and where they are.
Choose one of these three

The history at home have decided that they're going to renew their sessions for another 6 weeks so if you'd like to join them at 11:30 then that would be great. Sadly, I'll have to miss it.

Below is by Mrs Barker, please e-mail her if you have queries regarding anything about it.

Spelling task:

Today, I would like you to create your own sporting wordsearch. This could include the names of athletes, sports or sporting equipment.

You should begin by creating a grid, then add in the words you want people to find and then fill in the gaps with random letters. You can decide whether you give the person completing it, the list of words to find or not!

Reading task:

Reading is super important so please make sure you do it, even if you don't do everything else!

I would like you to read for 30 minutes today. Ideally, I'd like you to read your school reading book or similar, but as long as you're reading, I'm happy!

Being kind...

I am sure you are all being kind every day, but make an extra effort to make sure you do something lovely today. It can be anything, but it will make someone smile, and that's the main thing! smiley

Learning project:

The focus for this week's project is 'sport'.

The projects this week aim to provide opportunities for you to learn more about sports and games. Learning may focus on the history of sport, sporting-heroes, physical challenges and performances.

This afternoon, you can either finish a project you started yesterday or start a new one.smiley

  ● Sport Genius - Research about sporting history and see how many different facts you can find out about sports from the past. Create your own sporting trivia quiz which you can test out on members of your household. Or you could place different sporting events from the last 100 years onto a timeline.

 ● Sporting Heroes - Select your favourite sporting star. Then you should draw a portrait of them in the style of the famous pop artist Roy Lichtenstein using felt tip pens or paint - you may need to research him first! Please send me you creation so I can share them all.

 ● Name that Sport - You could create an orienteering map of your home/garden. At each location you will need to create a question relating to a sport e.g. Which sport has the most rules? The answers can then be recorded on an orienteering sheet. Can you create an answer that begins with the letter of the next location? You can test it out on a family member.

 ● Beat It! - Begin by measuring your resting heart rate by counting how many beats in a minute. Then carry out an exercise e.g. running, skipping, star jumps etc. for 3 minutes. Once you have completed this you should carry out a recovery activity e.g. walking or sitting and see how long it takes for your heart rate to go back to normal. Repeat this with different recovery exercises to see which is the most effective at getting your heart rate back to normal the quickest. Can you create a way of showing your results?

 ● Anyone Can Be a Champion! - This activity is all about exploring the diversity of sport. You should research the history of the Paralympics. Discuss why we have the Paralympics. You should create a poster which presents the importance of the Paralympics and the range of different sports there are.

Have a super day everyone.
