Instructions

17 Jan 2025

Our English topic is looking at instructions. We at first discussed the reasoning for this genre and the important of being clear with what we write to avoid miscommunications. We modelled a poor set of instructions full of vague information to follow a cake recipe

I'm not too sure anybody would want to sample this cake after bi carb was added by the spoonfulls and it was lumpy, beaten with a fist rather than a fork etc

We also tried origami making, which is notoriously difficult, and then evaluated the instructions. We found that clear prepositions and diagrams helped us to follow them correctly.

They couldn't have been all that bad as we did manage to make some of the designs.

In geography we've started looking at three geographical regions of the world - one in Greece, the Amazon rainforest and the highlands of Scotland. We located the countries and identified the physical features found in these areas which make them unique.

Have a lovely weekend.
