May the force be with you

05 Dec 2024

We've been developing our understanding of forces this half term. This week has been the turn of air resistance where we found how objects of the same weight with a larger surface area fell to the ground slower, thanks to air resistance. To test the theory further, the children designed parachutes of differing designs (only changing one variable) and made predictions.

Here they are testing their experiments and recording their findings.

Forest school fun - the children have linked their forest school sessions with forces also and have been investigating how levers and pulleys work in distributing the weight of an object to make it easier to move.
