Electrical conductors

01 Mar 2024

We've moved on to looking at electrical conductors now. Will all metals allow electricity to flow through it as well as each other?

To confirm we collected some everyday metal objects such as ring pulls, tin lids and paper clips and created a circuit to see if the brightness of the bulb was affected when the metal object was added.

Groups planned their investigations and created the scale they'll use to assess the brightness.

The results weren't as exciting as we were hoping for so we decided to add in everything into our circuit to see if that made a difference. It did; the bulb was light was barely visible so the flow of the electricity must have been slowed down by all the extra items.
