A party fit for a king

Whilst working as hard as ever, we took a short time off curriculum to mark our nation's newest historic occasion and celebrate the King's Coronation. We have been creating all sorts of crafty bits and learning songs as well as having our own school street party.

Here we are filling in our own segments of the King's image to create a large-scale picture.

Here he is, nestled in with where North Yorkshire's nobility gather.

We held a street party in the playground where we all got to share our big lunch together!

We had some AMAZING cakes kindly donated and we want to say thank you so much for contributing to both this and the jarbola, we wanted it to be an occasion to help bring the community together and we certainly saw lots of new faces.

Our 'cake assistants' had to have a lot of discipline to not dive straight into the selection and made a great job of serving our guests.

We had a huge turn out and it's been so lovely to welcome people from the community, who we wouldn't usually see. The children did a wonderful job in performing their songs and fun day was had by all.
