Ayla meets Class 4

Class 4 have been studying the perimeter of shapes and how you can identify side lengths without having to measure just by looking at other given information.

Here we are trying to join shapes together to create shapes with a certain perimeter; we learnt that for every 1cm of a shape which touches another, 2cm are lost as are no longer on the out of the shape.

We also have been developing our understanding of how the Saxon invasion impacted Britain - we looked at Saxon words and our towns which have Saxon origins. We then used maps to identify these towns and created a map to show this.

And the highlight of the week, little Ayla just had to come and meet everybody! She visited the school this afternoon and perhaps wasn't excited as we were as she slept through the entire event but we were all pleased to see her.

Ayla had lots of fun seeing you all and wants to say thank you so much for the lovely gifts and cards she's had; she's a very lucky baby.

Some of you were even brave enough to have a little cuddle
