Snow Day

10 Mar 2023

Good morning Class 4, I am sure you'll all be devastated to learn that we've had to close school today.

Firstly, go out and enjoy the snow; make the biggest snowman possible, measure it and record it in cm and also metres, who will set the record for the tallest one? Photo evidence needed to earn the title.

Once you're fed up of the snow and have come in to dry off then perhaps you could do a little work on co-ordinates. We started this topic yesterday; I've attached a sheet you can download and print. Have a go at plotting the below co-ordinates to make shapes. Connect your shapes up with a ruler like a dot to dot and see what has been formed. Remember, when you plot co-ordinates, they need to be precisely where the lines of the axis cross, no floaty co-ordinates.

Please download this attachment and print page 4 out for blank quadrants. Then plot the above co-ordinates. Each letter is giving instructions for a different shape. Remember, the first co-ordinate is for the position along the horizontal line, then the second is for the height. 'Along the corridor and up the stairs'

If you want an extra challenge then download this to make a helicopter picture, do not print or look at page three as it has the answers on.

Also, you were given homework yesterday (phew!) so please take extra time with that, look up things you're unsure of, write neatly (no chunky felt tip pens) and remember to punctuate.

If you are feeling more creative and would like some inspiration for writing then here's a fitting picture you can use.

Download this attachment and have a look at some of the writing prompts; I'd be very pleased to read any of your efforts.

You should all have your reading books so be sure to complete 30 minutes reading today.
We'll do the spelling test on Monday but it might be worth having a practice test before then.

Take care, stay well away from frozen water, DO NOT stand on any. Enjoy the snow and I'll see you all on Monday
