We've continued looking at place value in number but with decimals this time. Year5 have been focusing on what makes a tenth a tenth and why we need to write hundredths as 0.01. We've been creating representations of decimals before deciding their order and location on number lines.
Meanwhile, year six have focused more on the relationship between decimals and fractions.
While in theme we've been investigating just how much Britain changed under Roman rule and the impact this had on the towns which were created. We have been making information leaflets explaining the changes which the Celtic population would have experienced, should they have been allowed to be a Roman citizen. They carried out their own research which they felt would be worth noting, and are in the midst of their information leaflets.
Please remember that on Wednesday, we're all going to Fountains school for the day, to take part in a Roman workshop. I will be in touch shortly on how we've arranged transport for everybody. It would also be helpful to get in touch with the office if Wednesday's lunch choice (packed lunch or school dinner) is different as we'll be going by these numbers to inform the Fountains cook.
Have a nice weekend.
