Co-ordinates and States of matter all with a red nose!

17 Mar 2022

As it's red nose day we have to show off our red noses and red attire cheeky. Lots of fun raising money for good causes.

We've begun a new topic looking at co-ordinates in maths. We know how to plot co-ordinates but have been looking at how you can tell what certain co-ordinates are just by knowing a few facts.
Year 6 drew shapes back to back and then gave a partner just two co-ordinates of their shape. The partner's job was to draw the whole shape from their information

Using the terminology associated with shape to problem solve

Year 5 were honing in on their plotting skills and ensuring they're confident using all 4 quadrants.

We also had Ripon Grammar come back in delivering lessons on the changes of state. We first carried out investigations testing the temperatures of water states.
