RGS science and The Easter Story

11 Mar 2022

It's nice to be back in school this week and as always, we've been extremely busy!

On Wednesday we had an RE workshop where we were talked through the history of the old testament. A whole team of characters came and took on the role of one of people from within the story. It was really interesting to see how one story followed on from another, and brought it to life.

Afterwards, we were then tasked with completing a quiz, where we could use the story boards to help us answer them. They're taking them away to mark and will get back to us with a prize for the winner.

Later in the week, Ripon Grammar visited us to begin the science unit 'Materials' with us. We began by looking at the differing states of matter and the structure these states take. We talked about solid, liquids and gases and took on their formation. Can you identify which formation is the shape and which is the gas?

We then sorted cards out into their right classifications. Did you know that steam is actually a liquid and not a gas? It caught us out.
Finally we represented their structures and took notes.

And as last week was world book day, we of course had our class photo taken to show off our outfits.
Here we all are - what do you think? Do you recognise some familiar characters?

Of course Olivia and I had to join in from home too. Here we are as the BFG and Sophie.

I hope you all have a great weeekend
