7th February 2020 Having written such wonderful poetry and letters as part of our War Horse unit, it seemed fitting to link it with our art unit, sketching, where we studied the shape and proportions of a horse and drew sketches of Joey (the horse in the story). In the story when Joey was commissioned to join the army, his handler sent a sketch of him back to Albert (his young owner) so we've included one with our letters. Miss Blake lent a hand to our project as she knew some nifty tips to get the shape of a horse with ease. Our display is almost up and ready showing this work and can be found in the main entrance; please come and take some time to view our latest work. We also drew sunset scenes to accompany our work. And finally to round off all of our work on geography, the children applied their knowledge of OS maps and directional language to create a 'treasure hunt' whereby they gave instructions using the surrounding geographic features to follow and find the 'secret' location.
