5th July 2019

This week we began our week by reflecting on our time here; the year sixes were invited to attend a special service held at Ripon Cathedral to mark their transition to secondary school.

The weather was glorious, perfect for sports day and I was incredibly proud of how mature class 4 were; they set out the equipment, supported their team and used their initiative to help throughout the afternoon. Panthers took first place this year but a good effort all around.

On Thursday we were lucky enough to have been invited to view the new sculpture installed at Mickley church. The artist, who was behind the sculpture, came in to work with our class. We first went down to Mickey church to view it and appreciate the setting and then consider what we thought it meant. We came to the conclusion that a sculpture's meaning is unique to the individual so with that in mind we considered our own ideas for sculpture using shadow and light as a way to present it. (like you would with shadow puppets)
