Art week and trip to Bradford

Art week is always one of our favourite weeks and the children have really enjoyed their project, which this time has been creating portraits in the style of Lowry.
We started off by looking at some of Lowry's portraits and talked about his style of drawing people and how it made us feel. We then moved on to think about how to draw faces and how to make sure that all the features were in the correct places. To help us on our first few tries we had some models who posed in class for us- thank you for being brave!
The children loved experimenting with different media over the week, and we used everything from paints to pastels to charcoal.

On Thursday we went to Bradford to visit a synagogue to link in with our work on Judaism. It was very interesting to hear all about the Jewish faith and to discover more about our topic. The children asked lots of excellent questions and learned lots of facts to help them with their understanding of Judaism.
