World Book Day, Plays and Powering Down

04 Mar 2022

There are busy weeks and then there are BUSY WEEKS! This week really has been a BUSY WEEK!

Wednesday was World Book Day and the we came dressed as our favourite characters. The costumes were amazing and it was great to see such a huge variety of ideas; it has certainly given us some ideas for more books and authors to read.

Can you guess which books the children used as their inspiration?  That scarf does look very like a Port Vale scarf too! wink

I dressed as Mr Twit and had lots of bits of old food in my beard and stains down my shirt, but the children all said they thought I looked just like normal!!

We also joined in with the rest of the school to create a "Play in a Day". Each class was given a scene to do based on "George's Marvellous Medicine". Our scene was very exciting as Grandma drank the medicine and grew to an enormous size and then shrank away. The children were great in their roles and I think there could be a few Oscars in the post.

 A quick run through first...

... and then time for us to perform!

As if all of this wasn't enough to squeeze in to one week we also had a visit from "Power Down Pete" who told us about the importance of turning electrical items off and how to save money and energy. The children all had great ideas and were full of different ways about how to save energy at home (might be the first time ever that children save you money! wink).

We also did one or two other things but we've run out of room already. Have a great weekend and see you all on Monday.
