Work for Thursday 2nd April

01 Apr 2020

Hello again, Class 3.

Hope you are having a good week so far. I've put the work on in a different order but if you want to do the maths first then feel free. I've only put the maths second because its got lots of pictures (in fact I think I might melt the internet when it goes up...).

To save you scrolling down really far to find your last task I've put it up here too. After all of this hard work it would be great to have some fun and design some Easter eggs. Please draw and design your own Easter themed egg. It could be a colourful pattern, or maybe it will have an Easter bunny on it, it is up to you. It would be lovely to put some of these up on the website to cheer everyone up. You could even put yours up in your windown at home.

English

Time for a bit more grammar work.

YR 3
Please complete the "Speech marks 2" sheet and add the correct speech punctuation.

Yr 4
Please complete the "How did it happen?" fronted adverbial sheet.
If you want more of a challenge then try writing your own neat sentences using fronted adverbials (don't forget to add expanded noun phrases). Grown -ups - hopefully there is a sheet in the pack outlining fronted adverbials and explaining what they are in case you need a reminder too.

Maths

First I'll start with the bad news, Class 4 are beating us in our Rockstar maths challenge! This means that our warm-up task will be to earn lots of coins on Rockstar maths and see if we can pull it back. Well done to those of you who made it in to the top 6. smiley

For the main parts of your maths lesson I would like you to revise your place value work. It has been a while since we did this so it would be great to go over it again. I've attached a PowerPoint to look and at and hopefully it will work! Just in case I'll add some pictures from the main slides for you to see.

Here are your worksheets. They start off easier and then get harder, so have a look through and see which one is the best challenge for you. It might be a good idea to work through the first one to jog your memory and then challenge yourself on the second. I've also put the answers on so you can check your work.

And now for your questions.

Years 4, these can be tricky and I only expect you to do one sheet. Before you start it might be worth reading through the questions and deciding which one you would like to work on. Don't feel like you have to go straight for the hardest one.
