Reading - 30 minutes of AR reading.

Topic - PE - looking at the effects of exercise and then getting active.

Teams call -               10:30 = yr 3        10:45 = yr 4 (Please start with your microphone on mute)

Please have a pencil and paper handy for your call.

I've had quite a few techical difficulties with the webpage so fingers crossed it holds up!

The maths today carries straight on from what we did yesterday. I've included yesterday's video just in case you need a reminder though.

Don't forget to double check your answers when you have finished just to make sure because the £1 and £2 coins do look very similar in the book.

The answers are at the bottom of the page so please mark your work in blue when you have finished.

Don't forget 70p is written in pounds as £0.70

Some of the maths might not take you too long today so if you want an extra challenge I've put some sheets below (the answers are there too, no peeking though!).

Don't forget to do your 15 mins on Rockstar maths too, please.

Today we will continue our BFG English Unit.

In this lesson, we will analyse the opening scene of The BFG and generate vocabulary to describe the setting, what we can hear and what we can see. We will then think about how we feel when we watch the opening and how we can reflect this in our writing.

To analyse the opening scene (thenational.academy)

In the video it asks you to think about how to describe the scenes from different parts of the film.

For your evidence today I would like you to write the best descriptive sentence you can for each picture. I've included the pictures below as a slideshow in case you want to see them again. I've also put in a wordmat to help you to get some brilliant adjectives and verbs for your work.

Don't forget - bonus points for fronted adverbials and great expanded noun phrases ( an E N P is where you have a determiner, an adjective or two and a noun remember).

When you have done that please copy your sentences on to your Teams quiz.

PE

Wednesday's would be our PE afternoon so today we will be getting active and keep moving.

For the first part of the lesson there is a video to watch (strange when we are supposed to be up and moving!). The video tells you all about how and why we need to excercise. It also shows you how you could make yourself a timetable of different things to do to help you stay fit and healthy during lockdown.

It recommends doing an hour a day of activity which sounds lots but it isn't really. Some of you probably do more than an hour helping with your jobs on the farm. You don't have to do an hour in one go either. In school we do GoNoodle videos, we run around at breaktime or make up dances with our friends. There are lots of things you can do and things like walking the dog count too.

There is an animation of a heart at about 6 minutes in. If you don't want to watch this bit then skip from 6 minutes to about 8 and a half minutes on the video.

Time to get active! (thenational.academy)

Now it is time to get active!

I have linked some activities below for you to try. You don't have to do them all but have a look and see which ones you want to try.

 Cosmic Kids Yoga

You could try some yoga instead if you wanted. Here is a Masked Singer one to do. I can't believe I didn't guess Glenn Hoddle last weekend on the show. crying

Well done for all of your hard work today and I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow (or later today if you are reading this before our Teams call). wink
