Strange creatures and space sims

29 Apr 2022

To start the week off we had a trip to space (well, a simulated one anywaywink).  We have been looking at simulations and how they can be used to test things out or to learn new skills. We tried one out to see what it would be like to be the pilot of a spaceship and to see if we could survive in space. After a couple of near misses with asteroids we managed to get the whole class back safely, although is was close at times.

We also started our new topic in English and we read a very cute story about some animals that escaped from a lab and found freedom. We used this to create our own creatures which we will then use to help us write our stories next week. We tried to make them look like lab reports too which was lots of fun.

(Some of the ones we based our writing on.)

Finally, we finished off by looking at the story of Pentecost and what it means to Christians. The children drew some great pictures to show the key ideas of the story.

I hope you have a lovely long weekend and see you all next week.
