Week 5

This week we were very lucky to have a special visitor who came in to teach us all about what life was like in the past. John is a real expert and he has given leactures in universities and museums all around the world about different areas of history. We have been looking at life in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age and he was able to give us lots of information to help us to understand more about our topic.
If you're wondering why the armour is a bit big it was originally made for Arnold Schwarzenegger to wear in a film!
The children got the chance to handle some amazing items and see them up close. Some of the objects were thousands of years old and the children were fascinated to discover more about them. We drew detailed pictures of the artefacts and used our skills to see if we could work out what they were used for. The children especially enjoyed the chance to dress up in some armour and to wear the different types of helmets too.
The children had a great time and I don't think we have ever learned so much in one day before!
The children loved learning all about life in the past and they all said it was the best day ever!
