On the right lines.
17 May 2024
In between downpours the children were able to make it outside to do some practical maths this week. They have been learning all about angles and different types of lines, and looking for examples of these around the school.
They created their own plumb lines to check for vertical lines, and checked for horizontal lines with a spirit level which was lots of fun. It always makes the maths more interesting when we can get outside and look for real world examples.
We also carried on learning about Fountains Abbey and how it went from being one of the richest abbeys in the country to a ruin. The children enjoyed watching some videos to find out more about the history of the site and then using this knowledge to explain what happened to Fountains.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
