Caving

10 Nov 2023

This week we have been working on our non-fiction writing again and we finally got to the Earth's core! After watching some videos about caving and what it is like in caves, we pretended that we went deep underground to study the magma chambers and to see the lava for ourselves. After a long descent (or trip down the stairs wink) we reached our destination!

Our helpful tour guide showed us the right way to go so we didn't get lost. The school budget didn't stretch as far as a lava proof caving helmet, but we thought the saucepan was a pretty good back-up!

Our guide did an excellent job pointing out all of the things that we needed to look out for.

It was amazing to see just how far down we had gone. Luckily we managed to find our way back to the surface though! The children completed some amazing writing all about what they had seen while they were underground, and they used their imaginations brilliantly.

I hope you all have a great weekend and see you on Monday. laugh
