Experiments, bones and muscles

17 Mar 2023

This week we have been looking at our science topic again and we have been thinking about how our skeletons and muscles work together to help us move.

We made some models and used elastic bands to demonstrate how the muscles work together to help us move our arms up and down. We also explored how joints have different ranges of movement and allow us to move in various ways.

Later in the week we carried out an experiment to see if the length of your bones could have an impact on how far you could jump. We had a great time planning and then carrying out our experiments,  and we discovered that lots of different things can determine how far you can jump. It was also a great opportunity to use all of our measuring skills that we had learned in maths that week too.

Hope you have a great weekend!
