World Book Day

03 Mar 2023

On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day. We enjoyed dressing up in our costumes and had a fun filled morning full of book related activities. The day began with a Collective Worship where we thought about our first memories of books and also thought about where we liked to read and then discussed how we chose new books.

We then found our Reading Buddies and spent some time reading together. There are few things better than sharing a book with a friend, and we loved reading to each other and finding out what sort of books other people liked to read.  We also designed bookmarks too.

After break, Class 3 took part in the BBC’s live lesson exploring lots of different genres of stories. Everyone was delighted when they found out that Michael Rosen was on talking about books! He has to be our favourite poet. We then did our book swap and finished off any activities we had already started.

We had a great time talking about books and celebtrating the joy of reading, and I hope you have a great weekend filled with lots of relaxing and reading - what could be better?smiley
