Class 3 - Y3/4 Class News

This week has been another busy week in Class 3. On Thursday we went up to Lime Tree farm to see the standing stone circle and replica Iron Age round house. The children loved seeing the features and it really helped to bring our learning to life. We found out about how similar stones might have been used for worship by Stone Age people, and thought about what they could tell us about life in the past. 

We used our observation and recording skills to make detailed pictures of the stones, and we even managed to find some pictures of animals carved on them too! 
 
 
 
 
  
 

 
 

 
 

 
 Later on we had a look inside the round house and the children were amazed by what it was like. We talked about how it was built and wondered what everyday life would have been like inside. Even though it was very different to what the children were used to we did have a few who would like to live in a house like this. They are much hardier than I am, I think I'll stick with my modern hot water!
