Democracy, maths and racing.
11 Mar 2022
This week actually starts off by talking about last week. I said that we had had a really busy week and there was so much to fit in that we didn't get to mention all of it! Last Thursday we had a visit from a member of the Houses of Parliament education team who taught us all about how parliament and the government work in this country.
We found out all about how the House of Lords and House of Commons are made up, and what role the monarch has too.
We also discovered how rules and laws are made. This links in with all of the work we have done about key British values and how democracy works in our country. I wonder if there's a way to create a rule that all teachers get free chocolate?
In class we have also been working hard on our writing and our maths, and looking at how to write playscripts and also how to divide. The children have been brilliant at this and they have worked very hard.
To finish off Miss Blake told us all about her racing and how she had become the club champion! I don't think we've ever seen such a big cup, it was huge. Well done, Miss Blake, we are all very proud of you!
