Reducing our carbon footprint
05 Nov 2021
This week has been a very busy week! We have been looking at how to reduce our carbon footprint as a school, and thinking about practical ways we could do this.
First, we had a visit from the council to tell us about the importance of recycling and reusing things and how this could help to cut down on the amount of things we throw away.
Another way we can reduce our footprint is to compost cardboard rubbish and food waste. We made mini wormeries which can be added to our own compost bins. We also looked at how we could use different forms of energy and used a bike to make smoothies! I wonder if we could use this to power the kettle in the staffroom? Hope you're feeling fit, we drink a lot of tea.
Finally, we ended the week by meeting some amazing animals to help to launch our science topic. We talked about how they sense different sounds and vibrations and discovered lots of amazing facts.
