Home learning for Tuesday 19th October

18 Oct 2021

Good morning, Class 3.

I hope you are all ok and that you are feeling alright. Don't worry about sending your work in, just bring it in with you when you come back to school and we'll collect it all then. Don't worry about trying to do everything if you are feeling poorly either, just make sure that you are looking after yourselves and concentrating on getting better.

To start we will do our normal morning activites...

Maths

Today would normally be your shape and space day with Mrs Field, so I've put some space and shape based work on here for you to do.

English and topic combined!

For your English I would like you to use your art skills too and combine them for a fun project. I would like you to create your own mythical creature based on the ones from Greek myths. You could combine the monsters together to create your own, or maybe research one of the ones from myth a bit more and then write about that (as always, if you are using the internet please check with a grown-up and let them know straight away if you see something you don't like).

I would then like you to draw your creature in as much detail as you can (that's the art part wink) and then describe it for me using some great adjectives and interesting language (you guessed it, that's the English part cheeky).

I've put a PowerPoint below to give you some ideas. You could think about what special abilities your creature has, is it linked to any of the gods, is is good or bad, where it lives and so on. Have fun and I can't wait to see the results.

Here is another example from one of our most popular books in class, "Mythical Monsters".
