To learn about the Anglerfish and their appearance (thenational.academy)

When we come back after half term we will be creating some non-chronological reports about animals! Today I would like you to do something linked to this. You will need to watch the video first and then I'd like you to create a fact file or poster about an animal of your choice.

You will need to draw the animal in your book or on a large piece of paper and then research your animal. When you find out some amazing facts write them down on your piece of paper.

You could research how heavy it is, what size it is, where is lives, what it eats...  There will be lots of things to discover. Have fun and see what you can find out.

The website below is a good place to start looking for your information.

Don't forget your half anf hour of reading too.

I thought that this afternoon we would do something a bit different. It is really important to think about those around us and how much they mean to us, and I thought it would be fun to create a family portrait. You could do this as just a straight picture, or you could draw each person doing something that they love, eg one person playing football or wearing their Port Vale kit (you all support Port Vale, right?!). Before you ask, of course you can include pets, they are definitely a big part of the family.

I also thought it would be fun to experiment with different styles. Have a look at the slideshow below and see if there is a style you like (you might even recognise some of these from before).

In some of these pictures they have even made the person's picture using things they like. Maybe if you or someone in your family loves reading you could make them out of books. Maybe you could have them thinking about the things they love and then draw them, like the person thinking about surfing. You could also draw some of the things they like in the background around them too. Feel free to use your imagination and creativity.

You can use whatever you want to make the portrait. You could paint it, draw it, make it out of Lego - it is up to you!
