 Today we are going to use all of the writing skills we have been working on during our sessions on the BFG to create a piece of descriptive writing.

I would like you to pick one of the pictures from below to look at and then write about what you can see using your best descriptive language.

You will need to include:

fronted adverbials;
expanded noun phrases;
good quality vocabulary (remember to use synonyms);
correct punctuation; and
remember to double check your work, especially your spellings.

 To help there are some resources below too. For this activity I would like you to take your time and create a quality piece of work that is at least one page of your exercise book. You could do one whole page on one image or you could do two half pages on two images.

Some of the Year 3s wanted to challenge the Year 4s to a competition again. Today I would like you to write your six best sentences in to the form on Teams and then I will ask Miss Blake to choose her five favourite sentence. The year group gets the most sentences picked will be crowned as champions!

Art project

To finish off there is a fun art project to look at. Last term we looked at light and shadows and I thought it would be fun to do some shadow art. For this you will need to make and draw interesting shadows. You could use objects from around the house and think about what shape they make and if the shadows looks like you thought they would. You could also explore how to make the shadow larger or smaller I've put some ideas below to get you started.
