Hello, Class 3 and happy St George's day!
Thank you very much to all of those people who sent me their beautiful handwriting yesterday. I was really impressed by how neat it was and how beautifully it was decorated. A bonus well done to those people who made up their own poems too.
Maths.
This morning we are going back to angles and carrying on with our work in our "Maths No Problem" book. If you usually do the submarine sheets I've put some extra work on for you below.
If you remember, an angle is made when two straight lines meet at a point. It might help you do draw the shape out without the writing (use a ruler if you have one).
On shape three you might notice that they have used a little square to show the right angles. I think shape three has three more angles in it as well as the right angles. Can you spot them in the point?
I going to bet not many people have pegs boards and elastic bands at home, I know I don't! Just draw some different shapes on a piece of paper (don't forget to use a ruler if you can, the lines need to be straight to make angles).
I've put the answers for this below so you can check before you get to your workbook.
Below are all of the answers too so you can check your work.
And.... you know what I'm going to say when you get to the drawing part. Yep, use a ruler.
Ps - Don't forget the date too!
Now for the year 4s...
I've put a PowerPoint on your you that explains the main point because you are going to be identifying different types of triangles. The link to the PowerPoint is below, but I'll put the main points on below in case it doesn't open. For today's lesson you only need to be able to name the three types of triangle but I've left the rest of the PowerPoint for you to have a look at because I know how much you lot love you push yourselves and learn new things (note to grown-ups - the internal angles are just if the children want to have a look at them, don't worry if they want to stick to colouring the triangles in).

Hopefully you will now be able to name the main types of triangle and see what makes each one different.
Now can you complete pages 126, 127 and 128 of your workbook. Please make sure you stay in the lines and don't forget to check your spellings for the second sheet, there are some tricky words today!
If you are in the Submarine group then please do the two sheets below. You don't need to print them out, just record your answers, please (if anyone else would like to have a go at these too then feel free).
**** Very sorry to the submarine group, I put up the wrong pictures for you today! If you have done the ones I have put above, then please do the ones below - I think I forgot to put this page in your pack!****
Can make up two similar questions and work out the answer? EG, what would the perimeter of the triangle be if the square had a perimeter of 120cm?
How did you manage to draw an equilateral triangle? How did you make sure the angles are the same?
Answer below.
English
For your English task I would like you to tell me what you have been reading while we have been off. There is a book review sheet for you to fill in (there is a link to download it below too). Please read each part carefully and then fill it in. If you are reading a book that you are really enjoying then let me know and we can make a list of books we think are really good and share them with each other.

Afternoon activity
Today is St George's day so I thought it would be fun to do something about St George. Below is a link to a PowerPoint that tells you about him. When you have read it through then I would like you to draw a picture of St George and the dragon. You can use pens, crayons or even junk model it and use whatever you have. Afterwards feel free to send me your creations, I love dragons!
PowerPoint link is below.
