Good morning, Class 3.
Hope you had a good day yesterday. Thanks for sending me some pictures of what you have been doing too, it is lovely to see what you have all been up to. People have been up to all sorts of exciting things from making Easter decorations to singing, and even delivering and looking after baby lambs! There has been some tasty looking baking going on too . You really are a talented bunch!
First off today we will start with some PE and some exercise. You could do either a Joe Wicks work-out or try one of our challenges on the REAL PE website - the link is on the Sports section of the website.
Maths
Today we are going to work on our mental maths and make sure that we are getting really quick at working things out in our heads.
First, can you go on Rockstar maths and see how many coins you can earn in ten minutes, then can you do two "sound checks", please.
After that we are going to play some dice games. I've put some pictures below with different games on for you to look at. Each one has a different difficulty so feel free to try any of them and see which you find the best challenge for you. Some of these you will be able to do in your head, but if you need to work your answers out on a piece of paper then that is fine.
You could also multiply the numbers together too.
We have played this one lots in class, it is one or my favourites to help with place value.
The grids for this game can be found below.
-Times table link.pdf-
Another way to make it harder would be to start with a larger number at the bottom, so maybe use 3 or even 4 digit numbers on the bottom row.
English
For our English today we are going to work on our handwriting. I have put a poem for you below to copy out neatly in your best handwriting, but if you want to copy a piece of writing of your own choice then feel free to (it could be from any book you choose - maybe something about Mo Salah or Harry Potter, it is up to you, but please make sure it is about as long as the poem). I always like to put some music on to help me relax when I do my handwriting work ( yes, I do work on my writing too at home because Miss Blake tells me off if I don't form the letters properly in class!).
Afterwards you could even decorate your work and it would be lovely to see how neat your work is. If you want to you can send it to me at mrgamble.gfschools.co.uk
After that could you please do two Reading Plus activities. If you can't log on to Reading Plus then please find a book and read it for about 30 minutes. Hopefully it will be sunny so you could do this outside - what a lovely way to relax.
Music
Time for some more Charanga music, so please log on and try the next activity.
Day 3
Click on the third activity ‘Learn to sing the song’
Learn to sing Verse 1. Use the pause button to stop the song so that you can try each line on your own.
I hope you enjoyed playing the games today singing the songs. Have a great afternoon,
Mr G
