Teams chat at 10 o'clock

Our Teams chat this morning is at 10 o'clock.

Morning work

Counting
1) Count in 2s to 24
2) Count in 5s to 60
3) Count in 10s to 120
4) Count in 3s to 36

Stop at the one that you need to practice.

Practice
Y1 - Circle the numbers using a whiteboard pen on your number line to 20 then write the rest of the numbers underneath.
Y2 - Circle the numbers on your hundred square.

English

Today you are going to finish writing your stories.

1) Look at your planning pictures.
2) Read what you wrote yesterday.
3) Look at your planning pictures again.
4) Tell the rest of your story to someone else in your family or a toy or even a pet! Remember to make it sound like a story.

Can I write the end of my story from my planning?
Finish writing your story.

Choose your challenge:
1) Write one sentence for each picture. (That means 2 sentences today.)
2) Write more than one sentence for each picture.
3) Make sure your story has an ending ('The End' does not count!).
4) Think about how you can make your story interesting for the reader e.g story language that you have read in books or interesting vocabulary.

If you don't manage to completely finish your story then don't worry. Maybe you could tell someone in your family what you would have written and they could write it down for you or you could video yourself telling your story and send it to me.

Take a photo of what you have written today and send it to me on your private channel in Teams (or email). I need to see what everyone has written (however much/little) so that I know what to teach next.

Watch the video to find out what we are doing today.

Can I count groups and say how many in each group?

I have said to use plates and counters but maybe you could think of other interesting things that you could use. Maybe cups and pasta or bowls and lego.

Y2 Maths
Watch the video to find out what we are learing today.

Can I use the multiplication symbol 'x' and understand it as 'groups of'?

Remember to write the four number sentences in your home school book. I have had a go:

2 + 2 + 2 = 6
3 twos = 6
3 groups of 2 = 6
3 x 2 = 6

Can you tell how many groups I had and how many were in each group?

Phonics/Spelling

Year 1
Log onto Phonics Play at https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/
Click on 'Resources' then scroll down to play the game 'Tricky Word Trucks'. Click on 'Start' and then you will need to choose a phase. Each phase has a different set of tricky words to practice. Hover your mouse over a phase and you will see which tricky words you will be practicing. When you play the game see how quickly you can read all the words.

Practice this weeks spellings. Remember to 'Look at the word. Say it out loud. Cover it up. Write it. Check that what you have written is the same as the original.

Year 2
Which word should you pick to complete the sentence? Here is the worksheet for you to print
-Find the Missing Word Activity Sheet.pdf-  If you can't print then you can just write the correct word in your home school book you do not need to copy the whole sentence. If you can print then you could do this word search instead
  -Word Search Black and White.pdf-

Practice this weeks spellings. Remember to 'Look at the word. Say it out loud. Cover it up. Write it. Check that what you have written is the same as the original.
