Our Teams chat this morning is at 10 o'clock.

Morning work

Log onto Teams and click on the Assignments tab. You will see an assignment called 'Morning Work 27th January'. Click on the assignment and complete the questions.

English

Click on the video below to find out how to correctly form our last set of capital letters.

Now complete those capital letters on the Rainbow Capital Letters page in your Handwritng booklet.

Can you remember some of the jobs that poor Farmer Duck had to do? I want you to pretend to be the horrible farmer and think of some more jobs for Farmer Duck. Pretend that you are telling him what to do.

- Clean out the stables.
- Shine my shoes.
- Wash the clothes.

These are all types of sentences. They are called 'commands'. They sound a bit bossy and all start with bossy verbs (imperative):

Clean
Shine
Wash

Try making up new sentences starting with those bossy verbs. Say them outloud.

Can I form all my letters correctly?
Tell Farmer Duck what else he has to do. Write your sentences in your home school book. Don't forget that you need to write the short date in the margin.

Choose your challenge:
1) Write on the lines. (Be careful because some letters have tails that go down below the line but the rest of the letter should be sitting on the line. Letters with curly tails - f,g,j,y. Letters with straight tails - q. Tricky letter p because you have to go below the line at the beginning)
2) Form all capital letters correctly by starting at the top.
3) Y2s all writing is joined up.
4) Short letters only go up to the middle and tall letters go all the way to the top.

Extra challenge: Write command sentences by starting with bossy verbs.

Take a photo of what you have written today and send it to me on your private channel in Teams (or email).

More Counting in 2s

Can I identify equal groups of 2 and count in 2s?
Complete the page called 'Guinea pigs' in your 'Multiplication' booklet.

Challenge: Can you also write a sentence using 'twos' for the questions at the bottom of the page?
I have had a go:

2 + 2 + 2 = 6
3 twos = 6

Mark your own work using your purple pen. The answers are in the Home Learning tab.

Y2 Maths
Watch the video to find out what our problem is today.

Can I count in 2s to multiply by 2?
Copy and complete the following questions in your yellow home school book. Use your dot cards to help. How many groups of 2 should you have? So how many dot cards do you need?

1) 5 x 2 =
2) 6 x 2 =
3) 10 x 2 =
4) 11 x 2 =
5) 2 x 2 =
6) 3 x 2 =

Mark your own work using your purple pen. The answers are in the Home Learning tab.
