Morning work

Get your journals and copy and complete as many questions as you can. Think about quick ways to work out the answers. You might need to use a different method for each question. Is there a number bond that you know that could help? Would breaking the numbers up into tens and ones help?

English

Last week we were practicing lots of robot letters. Can you remember what they were? Today we are going to practice a new ladder letter. Watch the video below to find out.

Y1 practice the letter 'u' on the 5th page of your Handwriting 2 booklet. It should say 'Short ladder letters' at the top of the page.

Y2 practice the words 'tub, hub and cub' on the page headed 'Joining to b' in Handwriting 5.

This week we are going to listen to a new chapter each day from the story Little Red. Click ont he video below to listen to Chapter 1.

I have set some activities for this story in PurpleMash . Login and click on '2Do'.

Y2 when you have finished your PurpleMash activity I also want you to think about how you would describe Anna. Make a list of adjectives or expanded noun phrases to describe Anna – think about how she looks and how she behaves. You can choose adjectives from the word mat or think of your own. Write the list in your Home School book using your best joined up handwriting.

 Y1 Maths

There seems to be something missing from my clocks. Can you help me fix it.

Get your home made clocks ready to show the times then draw the hands on pages 5 of your Time Practice booklet.

1) Make your clock say the time.
2) Carefully draw the hands on the clock making sure I can tell which is the short hand and which is the long hand.
3) Look at your clock and what you have drawn. Are they the same?

Y2 Maths

Let's have another look at the minute hand.

Practice telling the time to the 5 minutes by playing the game https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/116/telling-the-time

Scroll down to the game, click on it and choose game 4 'Read the time to the 5 minutes.

Phonics/Spelling

Copy this weeks spellings onto your spelling sheet so that you can practice them each day. Y2 from now on you will be making your own spelling list. Choose 10 or 12 words from your green word mat that you need to practice. If you are not sure which ones to choose then ask someone to test you.

Reading

Y1 & Y2 Read a few pages from your school book. Then quiet reading for 20 mins - you can carry on reading your school book, or choose a book you have at home. Think about a quiet place you could go to read. Maybe outside?

Topic

Take another photo of the exact same place in your garden for your photo diary.

Click on the link to find out about plants you can find outside.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zpxnyrd/articles/zw2y34j
