Morning work

Practice writing the capital letters C D G M O T using your whiteboard pen on your laminated Letter Formation sheet. Remember that capital letters start at the top and you sometimes have to take your pen off and go back to the top.
Y2 - write the names Thomas, Grace, Megan, Oliver in joined up. Remember you don't join up capital letters.

English

We have listened to three stories about dragons. Can you remember what they were?

1) The Dragon Machine where George built a machine to take the dragons home.
2) The Dragon and the Dinosaur where the children made a dragon to scare away the dinosarur.
3) The Great Race where lots of animals had a race and crossed the river in different ways.

Today I want you to start planning your own Dragon story.

Can I plan a dragon story based on a story that I have heard?
Choose your favourite story from the three above. You could keep lots of the story the same or make up your own ideas.
Get a plain piece of paper or use your home school book. Fold your paper into 4 pieces (half then half again) or draw lines in your book. You are going to draw 4 pictures to tell your story. You will need a beginning, a problem, the solution and an ending. I want you to think about the following questions.

Don't write any sentences. We will start writing tomorrow.
Y2 - if you think of any useful words that you want to include in your story then write them down on your planning.

Bring your planning to the Teams chat tomorrow.

Extra fun
As your story is about dragons you might want to make a dragon! Have a look on Teams where I have put some instructions and pictures.

Y1 Maths

Help the children to find their coins. Read the clues and match the coins to the correct children. Tell me which colour box belongs to which child.
Holly has the ______ box of money.
Amira has the ______ box of money.
Sam has the ______ box of money.

Challenge:

The answers are in the Home Learning tab so you can mark your own work.

Y2 Maths

The children in the book are trying to make amounts of money but they only have certain coins. Can you help?

Let's go through this problem together and find out what you will need to do in your books.

In your Maths No Problem books complete pages 27 - 28. On page 27 the children in the book have made it extra hard by setting the number of coins that you must use. If this is a bit tricky then just make the amounts in your own way and write the addition equation for your way.

Challenge: Try and work out what the children in the book are thinking and use the number of coins they want you to.

The answers are in the Home Learning tab so you can mark your own books in purple pen.

Take a photo of your work and send it to me in your private channel on Teams.
