Morning work

Y1 - write the capital letters D, M and T. Remember to start at the top. You can look at the laminated letter formation sheet if you need to check how to form them correctly.

Y2 - write the words Dan, Mike, The in joined up.

Remember you don't join up capital letters.

English

Let's learn how to write some new capital letters.

Now make your own rainbow capital C, G and O on the first page of your Handwriting book.

Let's hear the whole story all the way to the end.

What was the character George like? What did he look like? How did he behave? Which of the following adjectives do you think go with George?

Can you think of your own adjectives to describe George? Think about sentences in the book which help to describe him.

In your Yellow Home School book write the title

George

Check that you have formed the capital letter G correctly. Now write the short date in the margin.

Write sentences to describe George. You can use adjectives from the list above.

Challenge: Make your sentences longer by giving reasons and examples from the story.

Y1 Maths

Watch the video below to find out what we are going to do today.

Get some real 1p, 2p and 5p coins. If you can't find any then make some. Draw small circles for 1p and 5p coins and a larger circle for 2p coins. Cut them out and make 6 of each type of coin. Now roll a dice. That is how much money you need to put into your pretend purse. Which coins will you use? Is there a different way to do it? Roll the dice again. You could play with someone else in your family. Can you both make the right amount of money using different coins?

Find and complete the next sheet in your Money Practice booklet. It should say 'Draw 5p in each purse'. You have to do it a different way each time. Use coins to have a go before you draw in the purses.

Take a photo of your work and post it into your private area on Teams. (If you have problems doing that then email it to me at mrshickingbotham@gfschools.co.uk)
