Hansel and Gretel

11 Jun 2021

Fairy Tales
The brothers Grimm collected lots of fairy tales and we have been reading Hansel and Gretel retold by Anthony Browne. He has used some new and interesting vocabulary that we have been trying out like; famine, perish, scattered, gnawing, bitterly and fretting. It has been great fun acting out the story.

Next week we will be writing our own retelling of the story.

What's the Time Mr Wolf?
We have been learning to tell the time and playing 'What's the Time Mr Wolf'. We found out that you can roughly tell the time just by looking at the hour hand. Where is the hour hand when the clock says half past 4?

Pulse is a Steady Beat!
It was fun playing to the pulse of the music as Mrs Hickingbotham played her violin. Then we had to watch for the signal and pass on our instruments without the music stopping!
