Morning work

Counting
1) Count in 2s to 24
2) Count in 5s to 60
3) Count in 10s to 120
4) Count in 3s to 36

Stop at the one that you need to practice.

Practice
Y1 - Circle the numbers using a whiteboard pen on your number line to 20 then write the rest of the numbers underneath.
Y2 - Circle the numbers on your hundred square.

Challenge: Count back. For example start at 24 and count back in 2s.

English

Now that we have been doing such a good job of our capital letters we are going to see if we can still remember how to form our lower case caterpillar letters.

Can I correctly form the joined up letter 'c'.
Y1 - Practice the letter 'c' on the second page of your handwriting booklet that says 'Caterpillar letters'. Look carefully because there 2 lines for the letter 'c'.

Y2 - Practice the joining the letter 'c' to other letters on the second page of your handwriting booklet. It says 'Diagonal join to tall letters 3'. Do all the lines that have the letter 'c' (I found 2) .

Can I use a question mark at the end of a question?

Yesterday you write some great command sentences. We are going to be looking at a different type of sentence today. Look at the pages from the book below. Can you spot any question marks?  How many can you find?

Have a practice at writing some question marks in your book. Remember that the dot sits on the bottom line.

The lazy farmer always asks the same question:
How goes the work?

What questions could Duck be thinking of? Here are some words that are good for starting questions. Pretend to be Duck and say a question that begins with one of the words below. Now try starting with a different word from below.

What
Where
How
Why
When
Do

Draw a picture of duck (he can look however you want).Write a question that he might be thinking of and then draw a speech bubble around it to make it look like duck is asking the questions. If you have time you could write some more questions around duck.

Here is one that I have done.

You will need to draw your picture on lined paper because your writing needs to be on the lines as we are practicing handwriting all this week.

Take a photo of your work and send it to me on your private channel in Teams.

GoNoodle Break

Get up, move around, sing along and have a break! https://family.gonoodle.com/activities/milk

Y1 Maths

Today we are going to be practicing writing addition sentences and part whole diagrams for picture problems.

Now get your Maths No Problem book and do pages 55 and 56. Can you remember how we did question 1?

Challenge: pages 57 and 58

You can mark your own work in purple pen. The answers are in the Home Learning tab.

Y2 Maths
Watch the video to find out what we are learing today.

Can I represent the 5 times table using pictures or objects?
Make 12 dot cards. Cut an A4 piece of paper/card into 12 and draw 5 dots on each rectangle.

Use the dot cards to show and say the 5 times table. Can you use multibase?

Put the dot cards in a bowl. Pick out a handful. Lay them out on the table. What multiplication sentence can you write? Have another go.

On Tuesday you were looking for things that come in 2s and you all found a lot. What can you find that comes in 5s? Share your ideas on the general channel in Teams.
