RHebblewhite - 26 Feb 2021
Monday 1st March
Good morning everyone! We hope you had a lovely weekend.
Today's Tasks are as follows:
Phonics Reception - 'oo' digraph video and practise cvc words/sentences
Maths Reception - Capacity and Volume. Explore through play.
Phonics Nursery - New sound of the week 'm'. Go on an 'm' hunt.
Maths Nursery - Capacity and Volume. Explore through play.
Don't forget to take a look at our School News and Enrichment Pages, where you can find our Collective Worship assemblies and lots of fun activities from Sporting Influence and Forest School, once a week.
Join us at 9.00a.m. this morning for a live meet. The story today is 'Owl Babies'. Stay on for a little game of 'Simon Says' (as a 'well done' for all your hard work this lockdown).
If you can't make storytime, click below to watch the story.
Activity for Reception and Nursery
I hope you enjoyed the story. I'm glad their Mummy came back at the end! Could you go outside today and make a bird's nest? You could go on a walk and take a bag to collect some natural materials.
Phonics Reception
Find the sheet in your Phonics Pack with a pig at the top and the sentence 'Here is a ....'.
Fill in the words and colour the pictures. Afterwards, cut them out as cards, turn them upside down and play game of pairs with your grown-up. There is space under each word to extend the writing and add an extra sentence about the picture, for a challenge, e.g. 'Here is a pig. She is pink'.
Watch this short song, to remind you of our new sounds 'oo and oo'. Try to read the words.
Perhaps you could have a try at writing or reading these 'oo' words?
Phonics Nursery
Our new 'sound of the week' is the 'm' sound. We make the sound by imagining we have our favourite meal in front of us! 'mmmm' (not 'muh').
Here is a video for you to watch and join in with.
Practise making your 'm' sound. Imagine you are eating your favourite meal and rub your tummy!
Go on an 'm' treasure hunt. How many of these things can you find that start with the 'm' sound in your house? Can you find spot any others?
Maths Reception and Nursery
We are going to be looking at Capacity and Volume this week, which is all to do with how much something like a tub, cup or bottle can hold, or how much space something takes up.
Can you have a play with some different containers in a washing up tub or when you have your bath tonight? Talk about which containers are full/empty, half-full or half-empty (depending on your outlook!). You could add some food colouring or bubble bath and pretend you are making a potion!
Keep up the good work everyone! Enjoy the rest of your day!
