Friday 26th February 2021 Class 1

RHebblewhite - 12 Feb 2021

Friday 26th February

Good morning everyone! We hope you had a good week.

Today's readers: 9.30 Henry,  9.45 Noah,  10.00 Daisy,  10.15 Hilton

Today's Tasks are as follows:
Phonics Reception - Practise Letter formation. Practise robot-talking and writing 'cvc' words.
Maths Reception - Measuring using your feet.
Phonics Nursery - Play 'I spy' with the 'n' sound.
Maths Nursery - Measure using your feet.

Don't forget to take a look at our School News and Enrichment Pages, where you can find our Collective Worship assemblies and lots of fun activities from Sporting Influence and Forest School, once a week.

Join us at 9.00a.m. this morning for a live meet. The story today is 'The Rainbow Fish'

If you can't make storytime, click below to watch the story.

Activity for Reception and Nursery

I hope you enjoyed the story today. You could make a collage of the Rainbow Fish. You could use ripped up coloured paper/newspaper/magazines, cotton wool, chopped up kitchen foil, wrapping paper, scraps of material...

Phonics Reception

Here are some 'caterpillar' letters. They have bendy lines which curve around like caterpillars. Practise writing them on some lines.

Find and complete the writing sheet in your Phonics Pack, with the pictures of a cricket bat, sun, net and number 10, with the words 'I can see a...'. Robot talk each word before you write it. You could choose one picture/word and write your own sentence. For instance, 'I can hit with a bat', 'The sun is hot', 'I can fish with my net'.

Phonics Nursery

Our new 'sound of the week' is the 'n' sound.
Here is the video again for you to watch and join in with.

You could play 'I Spy' to practise all of your new sounds.

Maths Reception

We have been learning to measure things with non-standard units. Today we are doing to try measuring with our feet! To measure, you need to walk really slowly, putting your feet very closely together, one in front of the other, with no gaps.

Take a walk around your house.  Find three things that are smaller than your foot and three things that are bigger. Can you count how long or wide your bedroom is using your feet? Which is the longest/widest room in your house?

Find some more feet in your household! Can you measure and compare them? Who has the smallest/biggest feet?

What can you find in your house that measures 1 foot, 2 feet, 3 feet...

Can you count how wide the objects below are, using your feet?
