Friday 29th January

28 Jan 2021

Hello Class 1 !!
I hope you were able to join me for Show and Tell this morning . I wonder if we were introduced to any of your pets ?

Click here to listen to the story of Hairy Maclary .

Literacy Reception.
Can you draw a picture of your pet (or a pet you would like !) and write;
My pet is a -----------. You might need some help to spell the animal name of your pet . You will be fine if it is a dog , a cat or a fish !!

Find the sheet in your phonics pack which says Book 2 Activity 3 in the bottom left corner. Read the words carefully and follow the instructions to complete the sheet .
Find the sheet called Find and Write the th Words in your phonics pack . Sound talk each word . Can you say what the missing sounds are and what letters you would need to write them ? If you are feeling super clever you can write them in .
The words are;
quill
bath
fight
ring
moth
thin
feet
thorn
shell

Nursery Literacy
Draw a picture of your pet or a pet you would like . Think about what colours to use and count how many legs your pet has . You could draw yourself with your pet . Ask your grown up to write what you would like to say on your picture.

Maths Reception and Nursery
Today we will explore spheres . A sphere is a round solid shape . It has no straight edges or corners . It has a curved surface .
Click here to watch this little programme. I like the song but think the singer may need some singing lessons from Mrs Hickingbotham !!
Go on a sphere hunt at home . Can you use spheres to build with ? Why not ? Do spheres roll ? Why ?
You could blow some bubbles. What do you notice about their shape ?
You could use dough and roll some spheres.
Can you remember the names of the solid shapes we have learnt about this week ? Can you describe each of them ? (cube /cone /sphere )

Reception
Find and complete the number 5 formation sheet in your maths pack .

Have a lovely weekend Class 1
Love from Mrs Todd and Mrs Hebblewhite xx
