Monday 8th February Class 1

RHebblewhite - 04 Feb 2021

Monday 8th February

Good morning everyone! We hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Today's Tasks are as follows:
Phonics Reception - Practise robot-talking and writing 'ch' words.
Maths Reception - Action repeating patterns
Phonics Nursery - New sound of the week - 'i' for Inky The Mouse.
Maths Nursery - Action repeating patterns

Join us at 9.00a.m. this morning for a live meet, to share the story ''Cinderella"

(Reception, you can also join in with the find the 'ch' words story afterwards, if you like).

If you are unable to make it today, click on the triangle play button below, to watch the story.

Activity for Reception and Nursery

Listen to the story today. Did you enjoy it? What was your favourite part?
You could make your own crown, like Prince Charming in the story or Cinderella when she becomes a Princess. You could decorate it with some repeating patterns. Count how many different coloured jewels are on your crown.

Phonics Reception

We are going to practise our 'ch' digraph. Can you remember the action we make and the letters that make that sound? How many words can you think of that have that sound in them?
Have your grown-up read you this story. Each time you hear the 'ch' digraph, put your hands on your head/jump/clap.

Can you robot-talk the words below? You could write them in a phomeme frame or draw a picture and write a 'silly sentence'. For example, 'A chip on a chin' or 'The chin can cheer'.

Phonics Nursery

Our new 'sound of the week' is the 'i' sound.
Can you practise making that sound? Watch this video in join in the Inky The Mouse song.

Now that you have heard the song, can you make the sound 'i', imagine you are Inky The Mouse and use your fingers to make your whiskers. How many different ways can you squeak your 'i' sound?
Grown-ups, you could robot-talk some short words with the 'i' sound, using sounds they have learnt. Ask your child to jump/clap/put hands on head... when they hear the 'i' sound, e.g. pit, sit, in, it, tip. Mix in some words without an 'i' sound, for more of a challenge, e.g. sat, pat, at, app, as.

Maths Reception and Nursery

Watch the first 2 and half minutes of this song, about 'action' repeating patterns. Can you join in? Can you make up your own action repeating pattern? For instance, 'clap, tap, clap, tap' or 'jump, spin, jump, spin'.

Keep up the good work everyone! Enjoy the rest of your day!
