Friday 22nd January Class One

RHebblewhite and NTodd - 15 Jan 2021

Friday 22nd January

Join us at 9.00a.m. this morning for a live meet.
Bring a favourite toy for some 'Show and Tell'.

Good morning everyone! We hope you have all had a nice week.

Today's Tasks are as follows:

Phonics Reception - Write short CVC words or CVC sentences.
Maths Reception - Number recognition and sequencing.
Phonics Nursery - Practise our 'a' sound. Make an 3D 'A for Ant'.
Maths Nursery - Counting with Gingerbread Men.

Today's story is 'The Gingerbread Man', click on the triangle play button below to watch.

Activity for Nursery and Reception

Can you bake your own Gingerbread men for a weekend treat? Or perhaps your grown-up can cut out a string Gingerbread Men holding hands, for you to colour and decorate?
Can you count the arms/legs/buttons? If you had two Gingerbread men, how many legs would there be altogether? How many buttons would there be altogether?

Reception Phonics

You might like to watch this Powerpoint video and practise reading and recognising some sounds and digraphs we have learned so far.
You don't need to sign in. Just click on the triangle play button.  You can pause the video throughout.

Let's practise writing some short words. Robot-talk the names of the animals in the pictures below and write each word down on your whiteboard or in your writing book, e.g. 'A cat', 'A dog'. Try to start your letters in the write place.
If you would like a challenge, you would write a caption, e.g "A cat in a hat" or for an extra big challenge, "The dog is in a big bed" or "The pink pig is in the bath".
Nursery Phonics

You have learnt a new sound this week, 'a'. What sound does 'ant' start with? Can you make your own ant?
Can you remember any other words that start with the 'a' sound? Perhaps your grown-up can say a mixture of words and ask you to tell them if they start with an 'a' sound.

Maths Nursery

Can you make or decorate some Gingerbread Men?
What will you need to draw on, to decorate him? How many arms does he have? Can you touch them as you count them? How many buttons can you count?

Good work everyone! Enjoy the rest of your day!
