English Reception 
Talk about rhyming words . Can you make a page or some pages for a book with setences that include some rhyme ? Can you draw a picture for each sentence ? For example you could write:
A dog on a log .
A cat in a hat .
A fish on a dish ?

English Nursery

Can you say some nursery rhymes ?
Draw a picture from the story or of something you can think of that rhymes ? See the ideas above .


Watch Numberblocks . Click here  ( it is about adding and taking away. )

I would like you to start hearing and using the mathematical words to add and take away .
Today you can think about adding .
Words you might hear are; 
and 
add 
plus 
makes 
equals 
is the same as 
You will see the sign + which means add and the sign = which means equals .
Can you solve these number problems ? You can use your blocks to help you . You might want to write your sums down .
 
1 block and 1 more block makes how many blocks altogether ? It makes 2 blocks altogether .
We can write our sum like this ;
1 + 1 = 2
Can you read these sums and find the answers ?

2 + 2 =
3 + 2 =
4 + 1 =
6 + 2 =
8 + 2 =
You might want to make up some of your own .

Maths Nursery

Ask Mummy or Daddy to make some cards with numbers on . Perhaps 1 to 5 or perhaps up to 10 ?
Can you find a collection of things to go with each number ?
For example 5 duplo bricks to go with the number 5 ?
Can you put your cards in order ?

Fun Activity 

Do some coin rubbings with crayons , coins and paper . What else could you make rubbings of ?
