Use your blocks to make 18 . Make a tower of 10 and a tower of 8 . Stand them together . We write 18 as a 1 and an 8 because there is 1 ten and 8 ones . Write 18 .
Put your blocks on your ten frames to make 18 .
Use your blocks to make 18 in different ways like in the video .
Make;
18 groups of 1
9 groups of 2
6 groups of 3
3 groups of 6
2 group of 9
1 group of 18 .
Play Hide Away Tubs . Its on a small sheet in the maths pack . Play using up to 5 or 10 objects .
Maths Nursery
Go on a shape hunt inside and outside .
Can you find some things that are ;
round
tall
short
spiky
pointy
wide / fat
narrow / thin
curved
Can you use some of those words ?
English Reception
Jelly and Bean book 3 , activity 1 and 2 . Write "The truck can go fast " or write about something else that can go fast !
If you would like to , you can draw a picture about Mr Gumpys Outing , label some of the animals and write a sentence about about what is happening in your picture .
Practise writing letters z, x, w, v and y.
English Nursery
Use a box to be Mr Gumpys boat and play with some toy animals if you have some . Can you re tell the story ?
Can you pretend each animal asks Mr Gumpy to come for a ride ? What might he say to each one ?
Where could they go in the boat ? What might they eat for tea ?
You could draw a picture if you would like to .
Fun Activity
Can you make a model of a boat ?
Will it float ?
Can you explore what different things float or sink ? ( you could use the sink , or a bowl or play when you are in the bath .) Make sure you ask Mummy or Daddy first .
Do some things sometimes float and sometimes sink ? You could try playing with a sponge . Why not make a collection of things and try and guess if they will float or sink ? Ideas could be ;
a wooden spoon
a metal spoon
a cork
a toy boat
a pencil
a lego brick
some coins ...
