Nursery Phonics
The story has lots of rhymimg words in . Can you say some of your favourite nursery rhymes with your grown up ?
This weeks sound is S. Can you use some kitchen foil and make a S shape for the letter S ? It looks like a snake doesn't it ! Can you make the SSSS sound ? That is the sound the letter S makes . Can you remember any words that start with a S sound ?
Reception Phonics
You have just learnt the new sound ng . Practise the action and sound . Pretend you are a weight lifter !! This sound comes at the end of a word . Use your white board and pen and draw a 3 sound phoneme frame (a rectangular box divided into 3 parts ) Can you write the word ' ring ' ? Can you change the first sound to write the word 'sing ' ?
Can you write the words ding and ping ? Can you write 'thing ' ? Remember to write a sound in each part of the frame .
The story had lots of rhyming words in it . Find the sheet Rhyme check sheet -1 in your phonics pack and complete it.
You could try writing the words. You might need to look at the correct letter formation to help you .
Maths Reception and Nursery
Can you remember the song 'Ten in the bed and the little one said roll over ....' ?

You could count out 10 teddies or cuddly toys into your bed and sing the song . Can you count carefully each time one has rolled out . Remember to point to each teddy as you say the number . You might know each time one falls out how many will be left or you might want to count each time to check .
Reception
You could complete your number 10 formation sheet in your maths pack .
Find the number cards 0-9 and cut them out . Shuffle them up . Can you put them in order from 0 to 9 ?
Can you make an extra card for number 10 ?
Now shuffle the cards and put them in a pile . Pick a card from the top and try counting on from that number. For example if the is card is 6 , you could count 6,7,8,9,10,11,12 ... Work your way through the pile .
You could try starting with the number 10 card and ordering the numbers backwards so that the numbers are getting smaller ie 10,9,8,7,.... Just like the song 10 in a bed !
Fun Activity
Try drawing around your hands or doing some hand printing . How many fingers do you have (including your thumb) on each hand ?
How many altogether on both hands ?
If you have drawn around your hands you could draw a little faces on each finger ? or decorate them with stripes or patterns ? You could try cutting them out !
