Class One News Friday 2nd October
We have been busy this week, meeting our Letter and Number Friends - learning their names, shapes and sounds and exploring what they can do. We used our magic fingers to write in the air, on our friends' backs and our favourite - in wet, sludgey sand!
Mrs Hebblewhite brought in some conkers, pine cones and acorns, which the children enjoyed feeling, sorting, ordering and describing. We talked about seeds and the changes that happen all around us at Autumn time. We especially enjoyed touching the smooth conkers and their prickly cases and added our new words to our 'Wow! Word Wall'.
Later on in the week, we enjoyed sharing the story 'Owl Babies' by Martha Waddell. We retold the story with cuddly owls, made a class book for our book corner, hunted for suitable nest-making materials in our garden (working in groups of 3) and made moving collage owls!
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
