Storytime - Mr Gumpy's Motor Car by John Burningham

English Nursery and Reception
 
Draw a picture of Mr Gumpy in his car . Can you draw all the animals ?
Reception can you label the animals ?
Can you spell cat , dog , pig , hen, sheep , goat , rabbit , cow ?
Play with some toy animals . A toy man could be Mr Gumpy .You could use a box as the car . Can you retell the story ?

English Reception
Cutting and sticking sentences . The sun is hot / I see a bunch of flowers  etc 
Look at your phase 3 sound mat sheet . Can you read the sounds ? ask a grown up to pick a sound...can you find it on the sheet ?

Maths Reception
Dotty toys 1 and 2.
Number 7 sheet .
Order a set of  number cards - you might like to cut out some more?
Play a game . Pick a number card and say the number that is one more . Can you say the number that is 2 more ? You can use counters to help .

Maths Nursery
Use a  box as a car and some animals . Can you count the animals as you put them in the car ? add another one - how many are there now ?
Sing some number songs . Can you teach your family a song about 5 little ducks ?

Fun Activity 
Use chairs , a box or blanket . Make a pretend car . Where will you pretend to go ? Will the car break down ? How will you fix it ?
