It's Christmas Time!
RHebblewhite - 05 Dec 2019
We have been getting into the Christmas spirit this week in Class One! We have been talking about the tradition of sending Christmas cards and have had fun learning how to write our own and 'sneaking' them into our friends' draws, as a nice surprise! In music our focus has been on our Christmas Nativity songs once more - the children have liked the opportunity to learn some new songs. They have really enjoyed singing them as a group and talking about their favourite song. Mrs Wicks has been busy collecting twigs this week with the help of the children, to make 'twig Christmas tree decorations', which they will be excited to bring home next week. This activity presented a great opportunity for the children to build on their Maths skills, in ordering the varying lengths of twigs, in order to create their pyramid-shaped tree. And finally, when we learnt from Henry's 'Show And Tell', that he was going to visit Australia over Christmas, the children asked where Australia was, so we have been exploring Grewelthorpe and Australia on
Google Earth and talking about how Henry's Christmas will be very different to ours this year!
