St James' & Methodist Church Epiphany 2021 Link

07 Jan 2021

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Thank you for signing up to join our Epiphany celebrations tonight.  Once again, the team have worked really hard to ensure that this our 16th Epiphany party could still go ahead despite these trying times.  We hope you enjoy this online version – it is a testament to the talent and commitment of you all, to rally together to ensure that such an important event in the Christian calendar can be celebrated as a community.

THE HARD WORK HAS BEEN DONE

Liz and Susan have done a great job of convincing the usual participants and some new talent to get involved in this important annual event for the Church.  It has been a pleasure to be part of the process of reviewing and collating the many contributions from so many of you – we think this is a triumph of community over technology – and we are sure that this recording will have a life long after the Epiphany celebrations have finished.  Who knows recording these events for future consumption could well be a new trend that the pandemic has enabled.

VIEWING IS EASY

From the comfort of your own home, you can sit down and click on the following link which will take you to the GVHCC YouTube Channel.  The video will automatically load and you can play and pause it using your mouse – with familiar controls from your VHS (remember them)!

St James's & Methodists Church Epiphany 2021 - YouTube

You need to be online and follow this link to access this years event.  It will be uploaded and ready to view from 7pm on Weds 6th January 2021.  It’s not quite the same as heading down to church to celebrate together but we hope that you still enjoy the show.  If you don’t manage to get online for 7pm – don’t worry, the video will still be  available – so you can watch it at any time, as many times as you like!

If you have any technical issues please feel free to get in touch – we will be happy to help.

PLEASE CONTRIBUTE IF YOU CAN

The costs of funding the church remain, despite being unable to visit as often as we might like.    Converting the Epiphany Party to a virtual event, which has always been one of our major fundraising events of the year, means that we can hopefully still make some contribution church funds for this year.  So, if having watched the video, you feel that you would like to make a donation then there are 3 ways you can do this:

  1. Direct

Contact Pauline Broadwith our treasurer on paulinebroadwith@btinternet.com or Tel- 01765 650179

2)  Electronic banking

Sort Code                54 30 46

Payee:                      Grewelthorpe Parish Church 2

  1. In Person

Put your donation in an envelope clearly labelled Epiphany Donation and deliver to Pauline Broadwith, Susan Rizos or Liz Witton.

Thank you for being an important part of Grewelthorpe’s Epiphany Celebrations.
